Paperboat CRM (“Paperboat,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) protects the information you and your customers entrust to our platform. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Who this applies to
This policy covers visitors to paperboatcrm.com, users of the Paperboat application, and people who interact with our customers through Paperboat (for example, leads who receive a call, text, or email sent with our tools).
2. Information we collect
Account and business information
When you sign up or configure your workspace, we may collect:
- Name, email address, and phone number
- Company name, address, and billing details
- Account credentials and role information
- Support and compliance contact details
Customer and lead data you store
As a CRM, Paperboat processes the business data you choose to store — leads, contacts, notes, call recordings/transcripts, SMS and email content, calendar bookings, and related activity. You control what you upload and how you use it.
Usage and device data
We automatically collect limited technical data to run and secure the service:
- Log data, IP address, browser and device type
- Feature usage and performance metrics
- Error and diagnostic information
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve Paperboat
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Send product, billing, and security notices
- Provide customer support
- Detect abuse, fraud, and security incidents
- Comply with law and carrier messaging rules
4. SMS, text messaging, and mobile information
Paperboat helps businesses send and receive SMS/text messages to people who have opted in to hear from that business. Messaging is sent on behalf of the customer’s brand — not as unsolicited third-party marketing from Paperboat.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or messaging consent data with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional use.
In plain terms:
- Phone numbers and SMS opt-in/consent data are used only to deliver and manage messages for the business the person agreed to hear from
- Message and data rates may apply; frequency varies based on the conversation and the business’s use case
- People can reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help
- Carriers and messaging providers may process message content and delivery metadata as needed to route texts — not for unrelated marketing
If you are a Paperboat customer registering an A2P 10DLC campaign, your public privacy policy and opt-in flow must also include this non-sharing statement for mobile information and messaging consent.
5. When we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share data only when needed to:
- Operate the service (e.g. hosting, email, telephony, and payment processors)
- Comply with law, regulation, or lawful requests
- Protect Paperboat, our users, or the public from harm or fraud
- Complete a merger, acquisition, or asset sale (with notice when required)
- Act with your direction or consent
Service providers are bound to use data only to perform services for us and under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
6. Retention and security
We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. We use encryption in transit, access controls, and other industry-standard safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access, correct, or delete personal information
- Export a copy of your data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Opt out of non-essential communications
Account holders can update many details in settings. For other requests, email privacy@paperboatcrm.com.
8. Children
Paperboat is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Paperboat after an update means you accept the revised policy.
